Missions
Season 1, Episode 1: Joy is in the journey
Post Count: 10Oberth sets sail to begin its first five year mission on the edge of known space exploring the Van’a’daal Cluster, its mission to chart this unkown region, make first contact with potential new allies and expand the Federations understanding of space.
Upon entering the Van’a’daal cluster the sensors detect a proto starsystem in the early stages of formation, something not many starships have had the opportunity to observe.
When entering the proto star system (Ul’dah Star System) they find that the system itself is only 100 million years old. (Science officer can define the system composition upon arrival. We just need 1 moon that is habitable if only barely by Humanoid life). When finding the moon and entering orbit to run a detailed scan a very faint distress signal is found, so weak it is not possibly to identify the source with any degree of accuracy. An Away team is sent to investigate. What they find is a horror that they were not prepared to encounter and Oberth itself is thrust into a game of cat and mouse within the star system while it finds the right time to collect its away team from the surface and escape the system avoiding the Gorn.
Season 1. Episode 2: Eclipse
Post Count: 0A covert Vulcan–Federation research program called Project ECLIPSE meant to harness quantum subspace energies, energies that turned out to be remnants of an ancient species that once manipulated spacetime biologically.
These “Echoes” are energy–life hybrids that can access memories of timelines, creating strange, destiny-like phenomena that seem to create flashes or predestined knowledge.
The project was shut down decades ago… or so Starfleet believes.
But something in the frontier is reawakening them.
And the Gorn have discovered it first.
Season 1. Episode 3: The Frontier Echo
Post Count: 0In the aftermath of the fracturing subspace has destabilized and an Echo phenomena — temporal bleed-through's — are spreading across Federation frontier space.
The USS Oberth receives a distress signal from the science vessel USS Constellation, investigating a derelict alien ring-station emitting “Echo” radiation signatures.
Unbeknownst to Starfleet, the Gorn Hegemony has already discovered the Echoes.
And they have learned to weaponize them.
